Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera temple in Kyoto is a heritage Temple. The first thing I loved about this temple was its environment. It was green, serene and peaceful.
Secondly, I was impressed by the massive wooden veranda supported by long wooden pillars that looked like whole tree logs.
The temple also had a waterfall that is suspose to have wish granting and purification properities.
I found the nearby cemetery a bit overcrowded and eerie.
The historical cross which is part of the shrine that is dedicated to the Philipino and American soilders who died in the battle of Bataan against the Japanese in World War II is an impressive structure.
A small lift ferries passengers to the horizontal axis of the cross which has a viewing area. Adjacent to the cross there is a war Museum documenting the bataan battle.
Visitors can buy food and beverages in a small stall in the compound of the shrine.
Pattaya Park Tower has a panaromic view especially from the revolving restaurant. I reserve the restaurant post for another time. For daredevils there are the thrilling cable rides. See gallery
